Equality Impact Assessments

Equality Impact Assessments are an essential part of our commitment to and action for delivering equality and diversity in all aspects of service delivery and employment practice. Our aim, in line with equality legislation, is to ensure that all of our services and employment practices have a positive impact on the diverse communities we serve.

The Trust has undertaken Equality Impact Assessments which seek to address our obligations relating to race, disability, sexual orientation, age, religion/belief/spirituality and gender equality. Through these we aim to improve and develop our service provision and employment practices across all strands of equality. The impact assessment process is part of the Trust’s policy-making, service planning, modernisation and project development processes.

A Trust-wide Equality and Diversity Steering Group has been established to review and improve the quality of these completed assessments, as well as the effectiveness of our approach. Areas identified for improvement and development through this ongoing-review process will be reviewed by Equality and Diversity Forums in both Local and Forensic Services, with oversight from the Trust-wide Equality and Diversity Steering Group.
