Message from the Chief Executive

Mike Cooke

Dear All,

At Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, we’ve taken an important step towards giving local people a bigger say in how we run our services. What’s more, we want everyone to know about it.

Our authorisation as Foundation Trust Standard is a move that will allow us to make real, positive changes in the way we work.

As this web site explains, Foundation Trust Standard will benefit everyone from those who use our services to the hardworking people who deliver them.

But, importantly, it’s something that will ultimately benefit the whole community. Because whether as a carer, a service user, a relative, or even just a taxpayer, mental health and learning disability issues affect us all.

So whatever your background, age or experience, we want you to be involved in our success. The best way you can do this is by becoming a Foundation Trust member.

Your membership is important to us right now. We want to ensure you’re fully informed about the benefits and how it will affect you for the better. You are able to vote for, or even stand as, a governor to sit on the Members' Council.

I’m a firm believer in the Trust’s philosophy of working together with our local communities to improve the services we deliver. Foundation Trust Standard offers the perfect opportunity to play a part in our future success and development in what is your service.

Yours sincerely,

Professor Mike Cooke CBE

Chief Executive
