Free National Conference: Psychological Therapies for people from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds

On 2 February 2010, Nottinghamshire Healthcare will hold a free national conference which will look at psychological therapies and services for people from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds.

The day will feature four mini workshops and discussions considering good practice and exploring the mental health needs and services provided for people from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds. There are also featured talks from Prof Dinesh Bhurgra, President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and Dr Ben Wright.

The conference, which will take place at East Midlands Conference Centre, is free to attend and lunch will be provided.

Beena Rajkumar is the conference organiser:  “It is a great opportunity for people from a diverse background to discuss and explore ways in which our services can be most beneficial to them. The conference aimsto raise the profile of psychological therapies for people from BME communities and tailor them for the cultural needs of the individual.”
