Gedling Community Mental Health Team Has a New Home

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, the county’s mental health and learning disability service provider has relocated one of its adult mental health community teams to a new location in order to offer an improved service for people closer to their own homes.

The Gedling Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) was formerly housed on Gregory Boulevard at the Mandala Centre but it is now seeing people at a base in Gedling, on Manor Road.

The move has been completed after a period of refurbishment and will be formally opened on August 14 by a service user, Fiona McCahill and a carer, Jean Rust. Local MP, Vernon Coaker is also attending the event.

Simon Smith, Executive Director for Local Services, will also attend the opening:

“We are always striving to provide people with the best access possible into our services. When people have mental health issues then they need to be able to access care and treatment near to their homes in a familiar setting. I hope that the Gedling team will continue to provide the very highest standards of care for their service users and that the new building continues to meet the needs of staff, service users and carers.

“The 14 August will be a celebration event and we are inviting the local community to come and see what we do and hopefully to enjoy some refreshments in the sunshine.”
