Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Helping to set the Standard on Disability

The Trust is delighted to have achieved Gold status and to have been placed 13th out of 106 organisations in this year’s Disability Standard.

The Disability Standard is the only management tool that enables organisations to accurately measure their performance on every aspect of disability. Delivered by Employers’ Forum on Disability (EFD) it helps organisations to identify their current performance and how this affects its service provision, as well as putting plans in place to deliver real improvements.

The process involves an online self-assessment and submission of detailed evidence to support policies and procedures, which is then independently validated by EFD.

Mike Cooke, Chief Executive of Nottinghamshire Healthcare said: “We are pleased to have taken part in EFD’s Disability Standard for the firsttime and are delighted with our score. The Disability Standard gives us the tools we need to make our organisation disability confident, which will be of real benefit to our staff and the people who use our services.”
