Local people are invited to find out about mental health, learning disability and substance misuse services and their future development plans at Nottinghamshire Healthcare’s 2010 Annual General Meeting.
Aligned, Able and Agile will be held on Friday 24 September at Trent Vineyard, Nottingham from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
The event will be an interactive day with a special focus on how physical and mental wellbeing play an important role in the rehabilitation and recovery of people who use the Trust’s services.
There will be an opportunity to view more than 50 exhibition stalls displaying services offered across the Trust, along with those from partner and voluntary organisations. People can also take part in a variety of workshops including a ‘Human Library’ where the books on offer are actually people; a look at how service users can get back into employment and the effect of sexual health on physical and mental wellbeing.
Attendees will also be able to have a go at tag rugby with coaches from the Rugby Football Union.
Some of the Trust’s exceptional services will be showcased including the Prison In-Reach service, Recovery services in the County and the Releasing Time to Care initiative. The day will also feature the Trust’s inaugural Members’ Meeting as it moves towards Foundation Trust status.
Mike Cooke, Chief Executive said: “I’m really excited about our AGM this year, it’s going to be a great day. As we progress towards Foundation Trust status we are becoming more accountable to the public and I look forward to standing up and explaining what we have done over the past year and our plans for the next 12 months.
“It is really important that the people who use our services or have an interest in them have their say on what they think we do well and where we could improve. Our new Members’ Council demonstrates our commitment to this, but we offer many other ways for people to get involved and more information on this will be available on the day.”
