Peter Parsons has joined Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust as a Non-Executive Director. Peter was appointed to the mental health and learning disability service provider for Nottinghamshireon 1 February 2009 and will be taking a particular lead on delivering the estates strategy and developing the Trust’s commercial capabilities to achieve growth.
Peter brings with him 40 years experience in the Commercial Property market with particular expertise in development and regeneration. He has worked as a regular consultant for the University of Leicester, East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA) and the NHS and was a Development Consultant to the National Space Science Centre in 2000.
Having now retired as a Director of Innes England, Peter wants to put something back and give the benefit of his experience to the public sector. He said: “I am delighted to have joined the Trust and am looking forward to working to help drive the improvement of the building environment for both patients and staff to result in a higher quality of clinical care.”
Peter recently chaired the Trust’s Capital Planning Project Board which oversees a number of major improvement projects for the Trust including the development of the National High Secure Learning Disability Unit at Rampton Hospital, the Highbury Hospital PFI (Private Finance Initiative) development and extension to Arnold Lodge. Peter has always been interested in the NHS and in particular, mental health in children and adolescents. He has supported the child health unit at Leicester Royal Infirmary for many years.

However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity (if any declared) to be made public. Peter Parsons has no declared political activity in the last five years and has held no other ministerial appointments. This appointment has been made in accordance with the OCPA Code of Practice.
