Nottinghamshire Healthcare, the county's leading mental health and learning disability Trust, will launch its new Nottingham City Carers Support Service at an event on Tuesday 30 September, 9.15am - 4.00pm, at The Park Inn Hotel in Nottingham.
The new service, based at The Stonebridge Centre, will provide support to carers of people using adult mental health services within Nottingham City. It will help to identify carers’ needs, promote carer issues, increase access to carer assessment, and provide a single point of access to carer support. The service will work in partnership with other organisations, including Young Diverse Minds which is appointing a carer support worker specifically within the Black and Minority Ethnic community.
Jane Marlow, City Service Manager for Nottinghamshire Healthcare, says: “This important event marks the launch of our new carer support service for the city. Carers need information, support and care so that they can maintain their own health and well-being. Their rights are an important issue to us, and they deserve dignity, respect and recognition for what they do.”
“As a service we want to provide carers with support, and access to appropriate and comprehensive information, as well as responsive services that allow them to continue in their caring. We would encourage people to attend this exciting launch event to find out more and to share their views and expectations of the new service.”
All places for the event must be booked. If you would like to book a place at the event or to find out more call 0115 9483268 or email CSWC@nottshc.nhs.uk
