Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, the county’s mental health and learning disability service provider, has been shortlisted in the national Health Business Awards 2008.
The Trust received the shortlisting in the category of Hospital Building Award for the National High Secure Healthcare Service for Women, Rampton Hospital. The award is made to a new hospital building project that raises the standard of the healthcare environment and demonstrates value for money and project management excellence.
Richard Brown, Head of Capital Planning and Projects said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the National Hospital Building Award. This demonstrates the importance of Mental Health and the success that this building has had on the services for our patients. The building design was developed with significant clinical input to ensure the needs of the patients and staff were fully met. We have introduced many innovative design solutions to create a modern, flexible, high quality environment, whilst ensuring the robustness of components in a high secure setting.”
The building provides a modern, flexible and high quality environment. The designs and components were fully tested in a bespoke mock-up facility and meet requirements of a high secure setting, using anti-ligature, non breakable and robust components for construction, whilst maintaining a domestic feel.
The Health Business Awards recognise excellence in the provision of first class NHS facilities. The winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony in London on 11 December.
