Nottinghamshire Healthcare is proud to announce that David Henry, Diversity Adviser, has been bestowed with an OBE for services to healthcare in today’s New Year’s Honours List.
David is Diversity Adviser for the Forensic Division at Nottinghamshire Healthcare, the country’s leading mental health and learning disability service provider. Based at Rampton High Secure Hospital, David is responsible for ensuring the Trust’s compliance with Equalities legislation and promoting best practice in the delivery of appropriate services to a diverse range of people.
Committed to raising awareness about mental health issues and campaigning for improved services, David has been Chairman of Mind, the mental health charity, since 2002, and was a former social worker and Operational Manager at Sheffield African Caribbean Mental Health Association.
David said: “It was a tremendous and pleasant shock to be nominated for an OBE. I feel very honoured and very grateful. I will be accepting the award on behalf of all people with experience of mental health problems.”
