What does being a Governor Member involve?
The Members’ Council allows members to become more involved in the work of the Trust by representing the views of fellow members, and by having a say in the future delivery and development of services at Nottinghamshire Healthcare.
This provides a really important opportunity to learn more about Nottinghamshire Healthcare, to gain a real sense of achievement by helping the Trust to improve, and also affords an opportunity to help personal and professional development.
Role of the Members’ Council
The Members’ Council is accountable to the members of the Trust via the Governor Members. The Trust will consult and involve the Members’ Council in the planning and strategic direction of the organisation. The Members’ Council meet on 4 occasions during the year.
Standing for Election
Any member of Nottinghamshire Healthcare who is over 16 years old can stand as a candidate. There are no specific qualifications or skills required, and no experience of Board level responsibility necessary, just a willingness to be involved and represent the people in your area. Governor members will be appointed for either 2 or 3 year terms of office.
