Section 18 - Infection Control

This suite of documents considers direct and related issues to healthcare associated infections (HCAI) and to the prevention and management of infection ensuring that the Trust is compliant with the Code of Practice of the 2008 Health and Social Care Act.

It includes related issues of decontamination, medical devises, hand hygiene. It addresses the specific conditions of MRSA, Legionella and blood borne virus exposure. The Pandemic Policy is also included in this suite of documents. These documents are important in order to reduce the risks of infection and increased patient safety. They are relevant to direct care staff who do not provide direct patient care.
