Section 3 - Safety & Security Policies

This suite of documents focuses upon the way in which patient and staff and environmental safety can be maintained and enhanced.  In particular, it considers best practice in terms of therapeutic management of violence and aggression.

A variety of issues are considered in relation to safe environment; including access to and exit from in-patient areas; searching visitors; the use of bed rails, and CCTV.  These documents are critical in maintaining safe therapeutic environment, and minimising the risk of serious untoward incidents.  They are primarily aimed at staff who deliver direct patient care.
