This suite of policies underpins the provision of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) encompassing both hardware and software. The Trust operates a complex ICT infrastructure in order to deliver the wide range of ICT services upon which the Trust depends to support the delivery of it’s clinical and back office services.
In order to ensure any item of equipment or software will operate on the infrastructure without adversely impacting on other services, it is essential that any items purchased have been formally tested and approved. In addition the adoption of standards ensures that unnecessary duplication does not take place, thus maximising efficiency of service delivery in terms technical support and user ICT skills.
It is important that all staff with a role in purchasing ICT items are aware of this suite of policies to ensure consistent practice across the Trust.
