Russell's story

I’m a Dad and I’m very proud of my family.

I work on the Trust Anti-stigma project for Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. I am one of the people on the DVD made by the Trust for Foundation Trust Equivalence.

I also work with the Flexible Day Services (FDS). With FDS, I play football and belong to a band with Craig & John. I also go to a bowling group which I win most of the time as I am wicked at it.

I have a twin brother but we don’t look alike (thank goodness!)

I also have a best friend called Pipy D who I go and see some evenings to play on the computer and listen to rock music.

I’m an individual and I have my own style and I’m proud of it. There is only one Russell Leivers.

I’m a musician I play the bass guitar in a band that I set up with two staff members from the Flexible Day Services. Playing music helps with my moods and anger. I get a lot out of it and love rocking out.

I love making my friends and family laugh and my mum before she died called me a joker.

I like getting my voice across and would love to be the voice for people with a learning disabililty across the NHS Trust.

I have a lot of independence and do lots of things for myself and I love it that way.

Other times I’m really good at listening to people and giving them advice.

I’m a very good person to be with. I’m an original and spontaneous that means I do things out of the blue and all of a sudden.

I’m very friendly towards people and very very proud of who I am!!!!!
