Learning Advice

Sue Atkinson is a Learning Advisor based at the Recovery Education Centre, 702 Mansfield Road, Sherwood.  Sue can be contacted on 0115 962 5866, for an informal chat about any aspects of learning including what opportunities are available to suit an individual’s needs whether it be learning for fun, to gain a qualification or to support a move into employment.  Learning can be carried out at colleges, community venues, via distance learning courses and at the Recovery Education Centre. 

Advice on how to get help in planning for assessments and arranging for a person to act as a point of contact should any sessions be missed due to ill health is also offered along with emotional support and encouragement.

The Careers Advice Service

Provides free information, advice and guidance to support adults in making decisions on learning and work opportunities.  The service is delivered on the website and on the telephone through trained advisors.  The helpline is confidential and advisers are available from 8.00am to 10.00pm, seven days a week.  Support through the website is available all day, every day.
