Community Health Educators

Community health educators provide advice and instruction on cooking skills, healthy eating and nutrition advice, weight management, basic shopping, budgeting and menu planning, to promote positive lifestyle choices to the residents of Bassetlaw.

ZEST

ZEST is a 12 week programme designed to help people develop the knowledge and skills needed to lose weight and change their lifestyle.  The course follows national guidance and it includes:

Guidance on what healthy eating is, portion sizes, physical activity, triggers of overeating and how to overcome barriers which may prevent weight loss.  Unfortunately we can not accept anyone onto the programme who is under the age of 18 or with a body mass index less than 30kg/m2 (body mass index refers to a calculation made using an individual's weight and height) or individuals who are pregnant or breast feeding.  These factors will be calculated and screened once a referral form is received.

If you feel you would benefit from the Community Health Educator service, have any questions or would like to know more about the service please call 01909 476563.
