Rehabilitation Low Secure Hospital Care
Thurland Ward is a 20 bedded unit. It offers treatment and rehabilitation programmes for patients with a risk profile in order to set them on a road to recovery in preparation for a life in the community.
Patient Profile
- Age 18-64
- Male
- Detained under Mental Health Act 1983 (including Home Office Restriction Orders with S41 and S49)
- Requiring Low secure but is on the road to recovery and being considered for a potential placement in the community in 12-18 months.
- Patients’ therapeutic and rehabilitative needs must be able to be met and their risks manageable through the services and environment provided by the ward
- Assessed with a tool (START) that measures the patients against five main domains which are Stability, Therapeutic Commitment, Assessment, Risk Assessment and Management and Treatment rehabilitation supervisability
