Inpatient Services

Within Nottinghamshire we have specialist inpatient services providing assessment, treatment and therapy to those people that require an inpatient admission and who are suffering from dementia (organic services) regardless of age, or presenting with mental health problems who are over the age of 65 years (functional services).

These services are needs led, person-centred specialist services for older people which aim to maximise the individual’s quality of life and promote a mentally healthy older population.

Inpatient wards are based at:

Bronte Ward – Ashfield Community Hospital - organic assessment and treatment, specialising in severe challenging behaviour (10 beds)

Shelley Ward – Ashfield Community Hospital - organic assessment (20 beds)

Kingsley Ward – Millbrook Unit at Kingsmill - functional assessment (15 beds)

Ward B1 – Bassetlaw Hospital - organic assessment (15 beds)

Ward A23 – Queens Medical Centre - organic assessment with dedicated beds for people under 65 years suffering from dementia (20 beds)

Ward B50 – Queens Medical Centre - functional assessment (20 beds)

Bestwood Ward – City Hospital - organic assessment (20 beds)

Daybrook Ward – City Hospital - functional assessment (20 beds)

Silver Birch Ward – Highbury Hospital - organic assessment and treatment, specialising in severe challenging behaviour (13 beds)

Autumn Unit – Highbury Hospital - organic assessment and treatment, specialising in severe challenging behaviour (7 beds)
