The Children Looked After Teams (CLA) based within CAMHS , specifically works with children and young people who are ‘looked after’ by Children’s Services. They may be living in foster care, residential care, independently or in pre/post adoptive placements.
The teams are made up of different professionals who have undertaken different types of training and consists of specialist social workers, clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, play therapists, an administrator and a co-ordinator.
The teams address the emotional needs of looked after children by offering consultation, assessments and therapeutic work in a variety of settings.
