'face it' Young Persons' Service

Service Offered

‘face it’ Young Persons Drug & Alcohol Service offers free and confidential advice, information, support and treatment to young people under the age of 18 or care leavers up to 21 years of age, who are using or at risk of using substances within the communities in Nottinghamshire County.

  • Our teams aim to provide a high quality range of services that are young person centred and specific with the highest regard to confidentiality and child protection to best meet the needs of the young people.
  • Services are provided to young people on an equitable basis and in a non-discriminatory way.
  • Our teams provide accessible, appropriate and holistic substance interventions for young people in Nottinghamshire County who are using or at risk of using substances.
  • Our service accepts self referrals, compulsory referrals from the Youth Offending Service (YOS) as part of an order, compulsory referrals as part of the school contracted sessions and consented referrals on behalf of young persons.
  • Interventions offered by our service include substance related advice, information, support and treatment.  As well as one-to-one work proactive intervention and detached work are also undertaken.
  • As a service our priority is to work with young people who are homeless, excluded, in care/care leavers, young people within the Criminal Justice System, young injectors, under eleven’s, pregnant young women, young parents and young people not in contact with mainstream provision.
  • ‘face it’ Young Persons Drug & Alcohol Service’s premises are in Mansfield however many of the young people are seen in their homes, satellite bases, e.g. Connexions or YOS offices, or in their local community at a suitable venue of their choice.
