Mumps, Measles and Rubella vaccination

MMR is a safe and effective combined vaccine that protects against 3 separate illnesses – measles, mumps and rubella (German measles) – in a single injection.

The full course of MMR vaccination requires 2 doses.

If your child is in School Year 8 or 9 you can complete a consent form and then contact the SAIS team to book in to a clinic.

It's important to check you've had both doses especially if you:

  • are about to start college or university
  • are going to travel abroad
  • are planning a pregnancy
  • are a frontline health or social care worker

How the vaccine will be given to your child

We are a team of skilled and experienced nurses and support staff. The MMR vaccine will be given as an injection in your upper arm so children will be asked to wear short sleeved tops on vaccination day.

If you have any questions or need support to complete the consent form, please contact our friendly SAIS team:
