REBOOT Notts is a study hoping to recruit 2000 people from the whole of Nottinghamshire to look into the effectiveness of online mental health support.
Part of the journey to recovery is developing independent strategies to help support you in coping with your physical and mental health. Using online self-help could be an aspect of your strategy.
The team want to find out whether an online peer support website Big White Wall is more or less effective in helping people if they are experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety, compared to information already available online from the NHS (Moodzone).
This study is being run by the Collaboration for Leadership and Applied Health Research and Care – East Midlands, which is a partnership of researchers from The University of Nottingham; The University of Leicester: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the NHS National Institute for Health Research. The team itself is a co-production made up of university researchers, NHS clinicians and most importantly members of the public who have experienced depression and anxiety.
Many people find that being part of a research study makes them feel positive, as their contribution can help local healthcare services to make informed decisions and their taking part will benefit others suffering from similar conditions in the future.
For this particular study, the team at are looking for people over the age of 16 experiencing symptoms of anxiety and/or depression. If you are interested in taking part, please check out the REBOOT website for further information about the study and to sign up.
You will not be paid for participation in the study, but there is also the opportunity to be entered into a prize draw to win £100 worth of high street vouchers.
At the Recovery College, we have a notice board especially for researchers and study groups. If this study doesn’t suit you, but you are interested in being part of a study in the future, please keep an eye on the notice board next to the office. We always have plenty of news to share with you regarding the latest opportunities.
