Ward rounds and reviews are an important forum for the multidisciplinary team, families and for people that use services. They’re an opportunity for reviewing a person’s progress and developing personalised care plans for the following days/weeks/months.
Unfortunately, ward rounds and reviews can be very stressful and anxiety provoking for people using services. As a result, people often forget to mention the things that are important to them and alas, their voices are not always fully heard.
As a PSW, it is crucial that we do all we can to support a person to have their voice heard. Therefore, the following page is a template, which can be used to prepare someone for their ward round or review. These forms are widely accepted, as most staff feel they improve a person’s care.
