Help fund a Musical Therapeutic Involvement Worker
Music has the power to heal, uplift, and connect. For children and young people facing mental health challenges and individuals living with dementia, musical therapy can make an incredible difference. From improving emotional wellbeing to stimulating memory, the impact of music in mental health is well-documented, and we want to bring that power to those who need it most.
We are looking to raise £6,500 to fund a part-time Band 3 Musical Therapeutic Involvement Worker for one day a week over a year. This role will provide musical exploration and expression through a variety of engaging and therapeutic activities.
Why music matters?
For children, young people, and individuals with dementia, music offers a way to express emotions that words may fail to capture. This therapeutic approach can help ease anxiety, improve mood, and boost overall mental health.
For those living with dementia, music is proven to stimulate memories and cognitive function, offering comfort and connection.
From lyric writing and DJ workshops to music production, this program will offer participants the chance to engage creatively, explore their feelings, and build self-confidence.
The Musical Therapeutic Involvement Worker will deliver a range of tailored activities, including:
- Helping participants put their feelings into words and create personal songs that express their emotions.
- Teaching skills in mixing and producing, allowing participants to engage with music in a dynamic, hands-on way.
- Exploring the technical side of music creation, giving participants a sense of achievement and learning.
How you can help
To make this vision a reality, we need to raise £6,500 to fund the worker for one day a week over the course of a full year. Every donation brings us closer to providing this valuable service to both children and adults who can truly benefit from the healing power of music.
