Action plan 2026 - 2027
Our PCREF action plan has 12 areas of action and is led by our Executive Director of Nursing,
Quality and AHPs. In 2026 / 2027 we will:
1. Establish a PCREF Steering Group
Attended by representatives of our organisation and racialised communities, supporting the Trust's commitment to anti-racism and anti-oppression through the delivery of PCREF, upholding accountabilities and being assured in the delivery of tangible improvements.
2. We will establish an oversight structure:
- Lived Experience Advisory Group
- EDI Oversight Group
- Tackling Health Inequalities Group
All groups are accountable to the PCREF Steering Group.
3. Develop a PCREF Dashboard
Data on access, experience and outcomes will be measured over time and highlight areas of possible inequalities - triggering a learning response / service improvement.
Date will be measured and visible at every level of our organisation.
4. Review the data and feedback
We collect to identify themes and learning which we can share across our teams and the organisation.
We will work with staff, patients and carers, and the community to co-produce priorities for improvement.
5. Global Majority Community Engagement
We will work in partnership with racialised communities to identify and agree core organisational competencies and co-develop our local PCREF Plan.
6. PCREF Plan Implementation
We will ensure the whole organisation is aware of it's responsibilities in implementing local PCREF plans.
7. Building Workforce Capability
We will commission the co-production and delivery of staff training, ensuring staff have the right knowledge and skills to build culturally capable services, teams and deliver culturally appropriate, trauma-informed care to global majority groups.
8. Lived Experience Advisory Group
Led by global majority communities, this group will provide independent oversight/ scrutiny of the Trusts PCREF performance, action plan and work with us to co-develop improvement priorities.
9. Partnership Working
We will commission specialist VSCE organisation to co-develop effective pathways for engagement with global majority communities and support the development of trusting relationships with the Trust and supporting the co-development of improvement priorities.
10. Accessibility
We will ensure the organisation meets information accessibility standards for the diverse communities using services, or those in need of services or support.
11. Feedback Mechanism
We will agree an approach to implementing a transparent feedback loop as close to real time as possible for racialised groups and culturally diverse communities.
12. Turning Learning into Action
We will ensure patient experience data is monitored, acted upon and flows into national data sets, enabling benchmarking, learning and service improvement-nationally.
