Festive Creativity Shines Across IMPACT as Wards Celebrate Christmas Together
Festive cheer filled wards across the East Midlands this December as services within the IMPACT East Midlands Provider Collaborative came together to celebrate creativity, teamwork and community through their annual Christmas ward decoration competition.
Service users and staff from across the Collaborative worked side by side to transform ward spaces into welcoming, festive environments. From hand-made decorations, cardboard chimneys and winter scenes, each ward brought its own personality and creativity to the celebrations, making the competition both joyful and inspiring.
After careful consideration, the awards were announced at the Christmas Service Users Reference Group:
- Best Decorated Female Ward: Willow, St Andrews Healthcare
- Best Decorated Male Ward: Rutland, Arnold Lodge, Nottinghamshire Healthcare
- Most Engaged: Wheatfield, Northamptonshire Healthcare
Other wards were highly commended for their Christmas engagement; as Litchurch ward from Cygnet Derby, wrote, sang and produced a Christmas Song.
Priory Lincolnshire held a host of activities, and a patient from Cygnet Clifton, produced a podcast about how to stay safe this Christmas.

The competition highlighted more than festive flair. It reflected the power of co-production, with service users actively shaping their environments alongside staff, strengthening relationships and creating spaces that felt inclusive, safe and uplifting during the winter period.
A huge congratulations to all wards that took part. Your imagination, teamwork and festive spirit helped make Christmas brighter across the IMPACT Collaborative.
