Integrated Women’s Ward Opens at Notts Healthcare’s Arnold Lodge
Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has launched its first integrated Women's Ward at Arnold Lodge, bringing medium and low secure services together in a single setting. This innovative model is designed to improve women's care journeys by reducing the need for disruptive moves between wards and providing a smoother, more therapeutic pathway through secure care. By offering flexible levels of security within one ward, the service can better respond to women's changing needs over time, supporting trauma-informed, recovery-focused care and clearer progression towards discharge. Integrated women's services are recognised for improving patient experience, reducing length of stay and providing more consistent, gender-sensitive support for women with complex mental health needs, including trauma histories and personality disorders.
