This workshop explores the differences between co-regulation and self regulation in children. We explore both types of regulation, the function of the brain and our response to stress. We explore 3 key factors in co-regulation and advise on practical strategies to support emotional regulation in children. Children of all ages may fluctuate between needing co-regulation and being able to self regulate.
Pre recorded workshop-21 minutes
The death of someone close, a significant loss, can be a distressing experience for both adults and children. The effects can continue to be present for months or even years after the event and a young person may need to revisit their grief at different stages of their development. We know that school is a source of security and routine for most children and young people. Bereavement is an issue that most school will deal with at some point. We hope this pre recorded workshop will help school staff to feel supported, comforted, and confident to nurture pupils who are experiencing difficult times.
