Secondary Young people's workshops (face to face)


Year 7 transition

Recommended 1 hour


This workshop looks at supporting young people in the transition from primary to secondary school. The workshop encourages young people to identify what differences secondary school may have compared to primary school. We will look at exploring different thoughts and feelings young people may feel when moving to secondary school, and exploring tops around what hey can do to make the transition easier. 

Exam stress (year 10, 11 and 12)

Recommended 1 hour


This workshop focuses on how young people can manage exam stress effectively. We explore what stress is and how to identify and notice signs of stress. We also explore different worries young people can have around exams, and how to manage these worries.During the workshop we also look at how young people can look after themselves during exam season and how to prepare for exams.  

Wellbeing workshop (year 7 and 8)

Recommended 1 hour


This workshop looks at learning about wellbeing and also explores what anxiety is, and discuss common situations young people can become anxious about. We will discuss what helps young people when they are feeling anxious and provide different strategies and techniques that can help to mange anxiety.  

Building better sleep

Recommended 1 hour


This workshop aims to improve young people's knowledge around sleep by exploring how much sleep young people might need and understanding the sleep cycle. The workshop explores how to build a healthy sleep routine and provides tips around what to do if you cant get to sleep. 

Body image

Recommended 1 hour


This workshop explores what body image is and covers the different aspects of body image and how it can be affected by the world we live in. It also explores what we can do to improve our perception of ourselves and suggest practical strategies for promoting positive body image which aims to boost a young person's confidence and self-esteem.

Self-esteem

Recommended 1 hour


This workshop focuses on what self-esteem and confidence is, and exploring what may impact our self-esteem. We also look at strategies to help young people improve their self-esteem and how to support others self-esteem.  

Resilience (Key stage 4 and 5)

Recommended 1 hour 30 minutes


This workshop explores what resilience means and how to cope in tough times. We investigate anxiety and anger and delve deeper into how the body feels and how our brain reacts.

We offer ways to regulate our bodies and strategies students can use to support their emotional wellbeing. Our practical exercises look at helpful and unhelpful thinking styles as well as problem solving scenarios. Finally, we provide signposting advice on how to access more support.

Understanding your teen

This webinar will help parents to navigate the challenges they may face as a parent of a teenager, and help them to realise that they are not alone! This webinar will give parents information, advice and reassurance around teenage psychological development, risk taking with teenagers, communication and brain changes.

Self harm: Information session and webinar

This is an informal webinar to learn more about self-harm, the signs to look out for, and helpful strategies to use in supporting young people. This session is also pre-recorded on our website and is suitable for parents, carers and other professionals. This webinar is currently being delivered remotely throughout the academic year.

Children’s emotional health and wellbeing for parents

1 hour webinar


This webinar explores what mental health is, and explores common aspects of mental health relating to children. During the webinar we explore some of the different mental health difficulties young people may experience, and some of the signs and symptoms to recognise  when young people may be struggling. We also explore tips for parents to support young peoples mental health, and what the MHST can offer to support young people in schools.  

This webinar is currently being delivered remotely throughout the academic year.
