Challenging anxiety

Delivery: Face-to-Face
Duration: 7 Sessions

This group is aimed at young people whose anxiety is affecting their everyday experiences, including school, social situations, and home life. The programme includes behavioural experiments that help young people gradually build confidence and strengthen their belief in their ability to manage difficult situations successfully.

Peer mentoring

Delivery: School-Based Programme
Duration: 7 Weeks

Peer Mentoring creates supportive mentor and mentee relationships within school settings. Older students are recruited, interviewed, and trained by MHST clinicians to provide structured support to younger pupils. Mentors learn valuable listening, communication, boundary-setting, and safeguarding skills, while mentees receive support with areas such as confidence, self-esteem, friendships, and social development.

The programme benefits both mentors and mentees, with previous evaluations demonstrating improvements in wellbeing, confidence, communication skills, leadership, and resilience. Due to the unique nature of this programme, schools should speak directly with their MHST Link Worker regarding implementation.
