Training and development opportunities
Your Trust Induction is mandatory to attend prior to commencing work and will cover your essential training. Your induction will include a combination of welcome events, face to face training sessions and an eLearning package and will be bespoke to your role. The Temporary Staffing team will be able to support and advise you on any queries you may have during your induction.
Day Restrictions - 300 hours
The day restrictions only apply to Mental Health HCA staff - if you are a HCA working in both Mental Health and General Health areas, this will also apply to you.
When you first start working shifts on the bank you will be restricted to working day shifts only until you have reached a total of 300 hours. This is a trust decision that has been implemented due to the current needs of the organisation. You will only be able to work early shifts, late shifts or long day shifts.
The Temp staffing team will keep track and update the total hours you have worked so far on a weekly basis, and this will be managed by us - there is nothing you need to do yourself regarding this. Breaks will also be included in the total hours.
Once you have reached the total of 300 hours on the bank, the day working restrictions will be removed to allow you to work twilight shifts and night shifts should you wish to. Should you have any questions regarding this or wish to discuss it further, please contact the Temp Staffing team on the contacts listed on the contact page.

Mental Health Observation Competency Assessment
This is required for Mental Health staff only. Although you have completed your Mental Health Observation face to face training. You will also need to complete an in-person Mental Health Observation competency assessment.
You will be sent the document via email to complete for this assessment with your LOOP log in details. It is important this is completed and returned to the Temp Staffing team within your first 3 bank shifts.
If you do not, you will be restricted to 'View Only' access through LOOP. This means you will only be able to see bank shifts through LOOP but not book into them directly yourself instead you will need to call the bookings team at temp staffing to book your next shift to complete the assessment on this shift.
If you do not return the completed assessment to us after your 4th bank shift, you will be restricted from working and referred onto the Head of Temporary staffing.
You will also need to have returned the completed assessment for your induction training to be paid to you.
