Director shortlisted for Excellence in People Awards

We were delighted to hear that Clare Teeney, our former Executive Director of People and Culture has been shortlisted in the Director of the Year category in the HPMA Excellence in People Awards.

Clare was nominated for her joint work at the Trust and at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust, with her role covering both organisations.

Clare is an inspirational director who has spearheaded innovative cross-system workforce solutions to achieve improved staff and patient outcomes. Clare has transformed the way in which the workforce profession is perceived and the value it delivers through the creation of a culture of growth, respect and inclusivity.

Clare Teeney, now the Chief People Officer at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, said:

“I am absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted for this award for my work at Nottinghamshire Healthcare and Sherwood Forest Hospitals.  I am hugely grateful to all those working in People Services for their commitment, professionalism and dedication to the People we serve.  I am passionate about ensuring the workforce feel valued and motivated to do the best job they can, and it is fantastic to have this work recognised on a national scale”.

The outcome of Clare’s compassionate and inclusive leadership style continues to be evidenced across our organisations and, despite the most challenging period for the NHS and our valued workforce, it is clear that Clare’s ethos that every member of the Nottinghamshire workforce regardless of role and employer are appreciated, respected and supported has resonated with our workforce.

Clare’s nominator, Jennifer Guiver, Executive Director of People and Culture at Nottinghamshire Healthcare said:

“Clare leads and inspires confidence and demonstrates personal integrity through her motivation to achieve excellent outcomes for patients, colleagues and citizens who in Clare’s words ‘deserve no less’.

“Her professional leadership has made an impact at all levels; she is honest, dedicated, driven, and determined to make a difference. She is a true inspiration and deserving of the title of Director of the Year.”

Winners will be announced at a ceremony on 8 September. More on the awards here: HPMA Awards 2022 - HPMA
