Rampton Hospital welcomes carers to special event
Rampton Hospital recently hosted a Carers Event on Saturday 29 November at the Mike Harris Learning and Development Centre, welcoming carers from across the country for a day of engagement, information and community connection.
The event offered carers the opportunity to explore a variety of stalls supported by hospital staff, providing insight into the different areas and teams within the hospital. Carers could also purchase items crafted by patients, highlighting their creativity and the therapeutic work taking place across the hospital.
A special highlight of the day was the visit from one of the hospital's care dogs, offering carers a chance to experience first hand the positive impact of animal-assisted therapy for patients.

Carers praised the event for its welcoming atmosphere and informative nature, commenting on the friendliness and helpfulness of staff and the opportunity to meet people and learn new information. Many highlighted the value of initiatives such as the Diamond Times newsletter for patients and appreciated the information provided about support groups for families. Attendees also offered constructive feedback, emphasising the need for continued improvements in communication, transparency, family involvement in patient care, and inclusiveness.
The Trust would like to thank all carers and staff who attended, helping to make the event a warm, engaging and informative experience. The hospital looks forward to continuing to strengthen relationships with carers and supporting them in their vital role in patients' care.
