We are very proud of three staff from Rampton Hospital who have each won a Cavell Star Award.

An inspiring national awards programme, Cavell Star Awards are given to nurses, midwives, nursing associates and healthcare assistants who shine bright and show exceptional care to one of three groups of people, their colleagues, their patients or patients’ families.

Our first winner is Gary Holland, Health Care Assistant who works within a specialist autism ward based at Rampton Hospital within the national high secure learning disability service. Gary is very deserving of this nomination, as during his time as a healthcare assistant, Gary's compassion and commitment to his patients is continuously evident within all aspects of his practice. He has strived to educate himself on the needs of the patient group and role models positive communication, empathy and kindness in all he does.

Helen Watkinson, Operational Manager of the National Services (Learning Disability, Deaf and Women’s) within Rampton High Secure Hospital is our second winner. Her knowledge and compassion shines through on a daily basis! She is a huge inspiration to anyone she meets. She has such drive and commitment to supporting both staff and the patients within the services. Helen will always make time for you, she is extremely busy but she will always make the time and support you in any circumstance.
