Trust wins Nursing Times Award!
The Trust's Alcohol Related Long Term Conditions Team (LTC) has won the Managing Long Term Conditions Award in the 2016 Nursing Times Awards.
The Nursing Times Awards celebrate innovations that are improving nurse-led care throughout the NHS and independent healthcare sector. Twenty-one winners from 135 organisations shortlisted were announced during a ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 26 October.
The Alcohol Related LTC Team supports people with alcohol dependence that has led to long term physical health conditions and a high risk of repeated hospital admissions. They work with treatment or change resistant drinkers, assessing their needs and organising access to appropriate coordinated healthcare services, to avoid admission to hospital. In just one year their work saved £360,000 in healthcare costs. The service has also been evaluated by Alcohol Concern and recognised as an example of good practice with change resistant drinkers.

The team work incredibly hard with, what can be, a particularly challenging client group. They are dedicated and passionate about what they do and this shows in the outcomes they consistently achieve.

The Trust’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team was also shortlisted in the Nursing in Mental Health category. They were recognised for their work in supporting young people experiencing mental health crisis through intensive treatment at home.
