Mental Health Liaison - Bassetlaw
Our liaison psychiatry team supports adults in general hospital settings who are experiencing mental health problems.
Patients are usually seen after attending the Emergency Department or while staying on a hospital ward.
We offer:
- specialist mental health assessments
- advice, guidance and support for patients, families and carers
We also provide training for hospital staff. This helps to:
- improve understanding of mental health
- reduce stigma
- support early referral to specialist services
Who can use this service:
- adults aged over 18 with a mental health emergency
- young people aged 16 to 18 between 5pm and 8am (they will be assessed and directed to the right service on the next working day)
- adult inpatients at Bassetlaw District General Hospital who develop mental or cognitive health problems during their stay
