Introduction to the EIP Service for Families and Caregivers

We invite you to join our 6-week online programme designed to support families and carers of individuals experiencing psychosis. This is a welcoming and informative space where you can learn more about the EIP service and connect with others in similar situations.

  • When: Wednesdays, 4pm to 5pm
  • Format: Online (links will be provided)
  • Start Date: Wednesday 10 September 2025
  • End Date: Wednesday 15 October 2025

Please note:There will be information and PowerPoint presentations each week. There is no expectation to speak-just a chance to meet other carers and learn about the EIP service and what we offer.

Programme Topics Include:

  • Understanding Psychosis and the treatments offered by EIP
  • Recognising Early Warning Signs and what to do
  • Exploring Resources available for families and carers
  • What does Recovery mean in the context of psychosis?
  • The importance of Self-Care and identifying your own needs

Facilitated by:Experienced staff from the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) team.

You can speak to your loved one's EIP professional, who can make a referral on your behalf.

FAQs about the programme

Who can attend the sessions?

The programme is open to all families and caregivers of individuals receiving support from the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service.

 

How do I join the sessions?

You will receive a link to join the online sessions. This will be sent weekly to your preferred email address. A member of the team will contact you prior to the start of the course to confirm your details and ensure we have the correct contact information before sending out the session links.

 

Do I have to speak or participate actively?

No, there is no expectation to speak. You are welcome to listen, observe, and participate only if and when you feel comfortable.

 

Are the sessions recorded?

No, sessions are not recorded to ensure privacy and confidentiality for all participants.

 

What if I miss a session?

While we encourage attending all sessions, we understand that things come up. You can still attend the following sessions.

 

Will I receive any materials or resources?

Yes, PowerPoint slides and relevant resources will be shared each week to support your learning and understanding.

 

Can I ask questions during the sessions?

Yes, there will be opportunities to ask questions, either during or after the presentations. You can also contact the facilitators privately if preferred.

 

Is there a cost to attend?

No, the programme is free of charge for families and caregivers involved with the EIP service.
