ADEPT-N project announcement Nottinghamshire ADHD service to pilot a new, digitally supported pathway for patients
Adults waiting for an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) diagnosis in Nottinghamshire could soon benefit from a faster, streamlined digital pathway, thanks to a new pilot project and collaboration between Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust's Neurodevelopmental Specialist Service (NeSS), HealthTech company Zendra Health, MindTech at the University of Nottingham and Health Innovation East Midlands.
ADEPT-N (ADHD Digital Evaluation of Pre-assessment and Triage for Nottinghamshire) has been supported through Health Innovation East Midlands (HIEM) Enabling Fund, enabling the implementation of the Zendra Navigator solution within the NeSS. HIEM supports East Midlands health, and care organisations implement innovative solutions that address current NHS challenges.
The technology will allow people referred for ADHD assessment to complete their pre-assessment questionnaires digitally on their smartphone or computer in advance of their appointments, at a time and place of their choice, to help reduce any delays from their referral to diagnosis.
For staff in NeSS, the goal is to free up time spent on administration so that they can focus on providing support to patients.
Dr Jenny Mogensen, Principal Clinical Psychologist at Nottinghamshire Healthcare said: I think it has lots of potential to help us streamline our admin processes and I'm excited to see how much time it could save us. I also look forward to hearing from patients about how it affects their experiences with NeSS
People with lived experience of ADHD will be involved in shaping how the platform is used, and ensuring that it works for everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances.
ADEPT-N builds on promising evidence from the use of Zendra Navigator, which has reduced time spent on initial assessment workflows by 37% and aims to show what is possible for ADHD services across the NHS.
