Hopewood receives self care boxes from Brave Parents
Hopewood, a mental health inpatient and community service for children, young people and their families at the Trust, has received a generous donation to support families using its services. Following contact made by our social worker, Simon, the charity Brave Parents which is dedicated to supporting families with children in hospital, has kindly provided a number of self care boxes for parents of the young people currently staying with us.
We recognise that a young person's wellbeing is closely connected to the wellbeing of their parents and carers and continually look for ways to strengthen the support we offer to families during these challenging moments of their lives.
Brave Parents aligns closely with the Trust's approach, and understand that during difficult times, parent carers often prioritise their child's needs above their own, leaving little time for rest or self care. Each box includes carefully selected items to help parents pause, breathe, and look after their own wellbeing while they continue to support their child.
The boxes will be available to parents at Hopewood. Initiatives like this align closely with the Trust's ongoing commitment to improving family experience, promoting resilience, and ensuring that carers feel valued and supported.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Brave Parents for their generosity, and to Simon for initiating this connection and championing the wellbeing of the families we care for across the Trust.
