It's Co-production Week!

"We don't want to be spoken for. We want to be part of the process from day one."
Ruqaiyah, Youth Impact Board Advocate

During Co-production Week, Nottinghamshire Healthcare would like to thank all the patients, carers, families and colleagues who have helped shape and strengthen our approach to co-production across our services.

Working together to develop and improve services helps us better understand what matters most to the people who use them. By listening to experiences, concerns and ideas, we can work in partnership to create solutions that make a real difference.

When people with lived experience are involved as equal partners in the design, improvement and delivery of services, we create care that is more person-centred, safer and more effective. It also helps us make better use of resources and improve outcomes and experiences for the people we support.

This year's theme, Care Equity: Building Equality and Inclusion in Care Together, highlights the importance of working in equal partnership. To mark the week, our Involvement, Experience and Volunteering (IEV) Team, alongside patients and carers, is launching a range of new tools and resources to support participation and co-production across the Trust.

Co-production Week also provides an opportunity to learn more about our Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework (PCREF). Nottinghamshire Healthcare is committed to advancing equity through the delivery of PCREF principles and our local action plan.

Co-production is about working with people, not doing things to or for them. When people with lived experience are equal partners, we make better decisions, design better services and achieve better outcomes.
