Join us at the Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework Community Action Plan Launch
Local people are invited to be part of a special event on Tuesday 29 September 2026 at the ICCA, Nottingham, as the Trust presents its Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework (PCREF) Community Action Plan.
PCREF is the NHS's first ever anti-racism framework, designed to address racial disparities in mental health services across England. The mandatory framework helps mental health service providers to ensure care is equitable, culturally appropriate, and responsive to the needs of diverse communities.
The event, which runs from 9.30am to 3pm, provides an important opportunity for people from local communities to come together, share their experiences and thoughts and help Nottinghamshire Healthcare turn its commitments to tackling inequalities into meaningful actions.
Attendees will have the opportunity to influence the Trust's plans by sharing what matters and makes a difference to them and how mental health services can better understand and respond to different cultures, identities and experiences.
Diane Hull, Chief Nurse at Nottinghamshire Healthcare said; I would urge anyone, whether you have used our services yourself, supported a family member or friend, represent a community organisation, or simply care about improving racial equality in mental health services, to come and join us. We really want you to be part of the conversation; your experience, knowledge and ideas are invaluable.
By working together, we can create services where everyone feels heard, respected, understood and treated fairly - regardless of their race, ethnicity, culture or background.
The event is open to all, but places are limited, so anyone wishing to attend is asked to register online
