Young voices spread festive cheer at Lings Bar Hospital
Lings Bar Hospital welcomed 28 pupils from Pierrepont Gamston Primary School last week as they visited to perform Christmas songs for patients and staff.
The choir performed across three wards, contributing to the hospital's seasonal programme of activities designed to support wellbeing and social connection for patients during the winter months.
After the visit, the school received positive feedback from families who attended. One parent wrote: The children represented the school beautifully. They sang with confidence and were polite and considerate throughout. It was clear how much preparation had gone into the sessions. There were smiles all around the room, and one gentleman was particularly moved by the performance. It showed how simple acts of kindness can make a real difference, especially for people who may be going through a vulnerable time in their lives.
Staff at Lings Bar Hospital supported the visit, helping the group move between wards and providing a warm welcome. The hospital team also arranged refreshments for the pupils as a thank you for their contribution.
Becky Asquith, Teacher and Choir Leader, said: Our pupils value the opportunity to take part in this annual visit, which allows them to engage with the local community in a meaningful way. We appreciate the support and kindness shown by staff at Lings Bar Hospital.
Becky Sutton, Chief Operating Officer at Nottinghamshire Healthcare, said: We were pleased to welcome the pupils back to Lings Bar Hospital. Their performances were well received by patients and staff, and we value the continued partnership with Pierrepont Gamston Primary School. Community involvement such as this plays an important role in enhancing the experience of people using our services.
Nottinghamshire Healthcare extends its thanks to the pupils, school staff and families for their continued support of this valued annual visit.
