If you have been a patient with the service and would like to use your experience to help shape the service this is one way of getting involved. We meet monthly on teams for an hour. You can register as a Involvement Partner to help us design, plan and change our services and then just come along. We would love to see you.
The sorts of things we do in patient involvement includes:
- Helping to design a website for the service
- Reviewing current working practices
- Attending promotional events to increase awareness about Long covid
- Sharing your story to raise awareness about Long covid

Living with Long Covid can be a lonely existence and with the support from the post covid team there is someone to talk to. In my photo I have my carers and the peer support session where we meet others similarly affected by the Covid virus is a life line. Interactive sessions dealing with specific issues such as brain fog and fatigue helps with daily living. I was severely ill in 2020 and was ventilated, now I am mostly housebound so having support from the service is paramount.

Long Covid symptoms can leave you feeling detached and isolated. The patient involvement meetings are a chance to be heard regarding the support provided. It is good to know that our insight and opinions are welcomed and valued.

The long covid patient involvement group is a lifeline. It's a chance to share, be believed and supported. Long covid is a very isolating condition, especially if your social circle has shrunk, your work is remote and you often face a lack of understanding and compassion. Fighting for rights as someone with chronic illness can be exhausting without the help available here. The group reminds me that I am not the only one, that I do have a voice, and that I matter. That is invaluably important.
