Prison Healthcare

Our prison healthcare teams provide primary healthcare, mental healthcare and substance misuse services to people in prison and immigration removal centres.

Our aim is to provide healthcare into prisons that is of at least equal quality to that which is available in the community.

Healthcare staff in a prison

We provide healthcare into prisons across the East Midlands. We also provide services into the Morton Hall Immigration Removal Centre.

We strive to make a positive impact on the lives of prisoners, thereby improving their health, securing their wellbeing and reducing reoffending behaviour.

Accessing our services

You will be referred to the health service on reception at the prison. If you need to access services at a later stage you should approach a member of the healthcare team or prison staff.
