Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy Service
We deliver a high quality service to adults (aged 18 and over) in Nottinghamshire County who have acquired swallowing, speech and other communication problems. Our staff will work with you if you have therapy needs due to neurological conditions such as:
- Stroke
- Motor neurone disease
- Multiple sclerosis
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Brain injury
- Dementia
- Any other condition that causes swallowing and/or communication difficulties
We aim to help you recover your swallowing and communication abilities as much as possible and to manage long term problems. We also support people who are being cared for at the end of their lives.
We see patients in a number of places across Nottinghamshire, including their own home when required.
Outpatient clinics take place at:
- Mansfield Community Hospital
- Newark Health Centre
- Stapleford Care Centre
Our staff provide the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) services for adult inpatients in Lings Bar Hospital. They also work in:
- Specialist multi professional community teams in Bassetlaw, South Nottinghamshire and Mid Nottinghamshire.
- Community Mental Health Teams across Nottinghamshire as part of Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP).
Most consultations are one-to-one but group therapy is also provided, when appropriate.
