Colleague awarded place on Clinical Entrepreneur Programme
Congratulations to Adil Khan, Lead Pharmacist for Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) and Education and Training at the Trust, who has been given a place on the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme.
The Clinical Entrepreneur Programme is a workforce development programme for clinical and non-clinical NHS staff, run by NHS England’s Innovation, Research and Life Sciences group and delivered jointly with Anglia Ruskin University.
It is the biggest entrepreneurial workforce development programme of its kind, aiming to provide the commercial skills, knowledge and experience needed to successfully develop and spread innovative solutions to the challenges facing the NHS for the benefit of patients, staff and the wider NHS.
Adil said: “I applied to the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme with a deep-seated commitment to enhancing mental health care accessibility. My experiences as a clinical pharmacist specialising in mental health have unveiled gaps in support for patients that have been diagnosed with ADHD, which was also evident in family/friends. I aspire to leverage this programme to further develop and implement an innovative ADHD app, bridging the disparities in access to timely and tailored mental health support.”

In his application, Adil outlined what he felt was the critical need for improved ADHD care, addressing the challenges of long NHS waiting times and limited access to healthcare professionals. He detailed the features of the ADHD app, emphasising evidence-based advice, personalised care, community support, and vital health metric tracking. His application highlighted his qualifications, experiences, and dedication to revolutionising mental health support, aligning with the programme's goals of fostering innovation in the healthcare sector.
