Contact the ward you wish to visit in advance for guidance and instructions for a safe visit.

For other medical advice and support contact your GP or visit NHS 111
Only visit your local Emergency Department for serious life-threatening conditions that need immediate medical attention including persistent severe chest pain, loss of consciousness, acute confused state, severe breathlessness, severe blood loss, serious burns or suspected stroke.
Redwood 1 Ward (Male)
We provide inpatient care for men experiencing an acute crisis relating to their mental health who cannot be supported in their own home.
The service focuses on assessment of need, treatment, and recovery and places the service user at the centre of care planning.
Care is provided by a wide range of professionals including:
- Doctors
- Nurses
- Occupational therapists
- Psychologists
- Support workers
The service is for men aged between 18 - 65 and patients over 65 who have already been accessing mental health services may also be referred.
Accessing our services
Admissions to Redwood 1 Ward are agreed by the bed manager working within the crisis team within the city or county south locality and are facilitated if felt to be the most safe and effective way to deliver care.

Monday - Friday 6.00pm - 8.30pm
Weekends and Bank Holidays 9.00am - 8.30pm
