Hear from our recent work experience student, Scarlett!

Scarlett recently had the opportunity to do a work experience placement in the Trust's Communications team. Hear from Scarlett got on during her placement.

Scarlett said, "I have had the best week in the Communications department on my work experience. Meeting with such a talented group of professionals, who have made the time to tell me what it is they spend their days doing, has been most inspiring.

"I knew coming into this experience week that I wanted a career in Communications but without coming here and seeing it, I don't think I would have expected such a variety of specialities that come under the title.

"I have had the opportunity to be creative and forward-thinking."

Scarlett learnt many things whilst on placement with the team such as graphic design, photo and video editing, newsletter writing, drafting and planning social media posts and much more.

Scarlett continued, "I had no idea what to expect before I came here, if anything I was apprehensive. But, as soon as I sat down, I really did feel part of a team.

"Thank you to the whole Communications team and everyone at Nottinghamshire Healthcare who made this week possible - I had the best time!"

Toni Smith, Head of Communications said, "Scarlett is friendly, confident and very bright! She has a real aptitude for digital communications and got involved in all aspects of it! By the end of the week, she had even created a communications plan for a new young people's mental health line. The standard of Scarlett's project work was very high and I have no doubt she will be very successful in anything she does. The team really enjoyed having Scarlett about and received lots of positive feedback about her work ethic, general positivity, and the quality of the work she produced."

Toni continued, "Work experience placements like this are incredibly valuable as they provide students with a real insight into the industry, help them develop practical skills, and inspire the next generation of professionals. We wish Scarlett all the best for future studies."
