Professional development

We offer many professional development opportunities for those working with children and young people.

Our Talking Together service could be for you if you are a teacher, teaching assistant, childminder, work in an after-school setting or are an early years practitioner. Our service is also available for people who work outside of Nottinghamshire.

Our early years practitioners page has a wide range of information on training.

Language lead networks

This term, we have four face to face networks and three virtual networks available to book. Please select the network most convenient for you - there will be practitioners from a range of districts in each network. Please do choose a network you can attend for the full session.

This term’s network will focus on supporting children with speech, language and communication needs. As usual, there will be local and national updates from the world of speech, language and communication.

‘New to the role’ Language Lead networks

These networks are for those who are new to being a Language Lead or who are developing confidence in the role. It’s the best place to start to get established as a Language Lead!

We recommend that you attend only one of the ‘new to the role’ sessions per term until you have attended all 3, i.e. if you are new to being a language lead you would come to session 1 this term, session 2 next term etc. This is because each session contains lots of new information as well as some reminders, and there will be actions to complete following each session.

Visit our Facebook page for further information or contact: L4L@nottshc.nhs.uk

During COVID-19 pandemic, Language Lead networks are being offered virtually – contact the L4L@nottshc.nhs.uk for more details.
